SWANAGE and Wareham came away from Poole with all three points at their closest rivals.
Swans made the trip to Poole and showed their determination from the first whistle, with the forwards being well fed with great balls from the visitors’ midfield.
The deadlock was broken by Swanage after 15 minutes, as Liz Solomon stormed down the wing and powered into the D, before firing past the keeper.
Both teams battled hard in a game that was fast and furious, but the visitors doubled their lead shortly before the break.
It was Solomon again who struck a powerful ball into the net just before the interval.
The game continued to be hotly contested, but Poole were unable to find a way back into the contest as Swanage’s defence stayed resolute.
The Swans created more chances which would have seen the game out more comfortably, with newcomer Nicole Deller and Liz Goldsack unlucky not to score.
The visitors soaked up the pressure from their hosts and held their structure until the final whistle, taking the points back to Purbeck.
