THERE was ‘a bit of everything’ for Cherries players over the international break, Andoni Iraola said.

Dean Huijsen, Luis Sinisterra, Justin Kluivert, Antoine Semenyo, Dango Ouattara, Illia Zabarnyi, Ryan Christie, Julian Araujo Mark Travers, Milos Kerkez and Alex Scott were all called up for their respective national teams.

All bar Ouattara returned from the break unscathed and ready for the Chelsea game, but the Burkina Faso forward has picked up an ankle injury so will miss the clash with the Blues.

Among the highlights of the break was Huijsen’s performances for Spain U21s, playing every minute against Scotland and Hungary and scoring in a 2-1 win over the former.

Illia Zabarnyi also played every minute of Ukraine’s two UEFA Nations League fixtures, with his country falling to 2-1 and 3-2 losses to Albani and Czechia.

Reflecting on his players’ international performances, Andoni Iraola told the Daily Echo: “I think there has been a bit of everything, some good performances and performances that probably they are not happy with.

“It's true that Dean is the only one, I think, scoring [a] goal.

“I think he played also the two games full minutes, and he was really good with the under 21s.

“He has been very good every minute we've given him. I think he has been involved in three of the four games.

“I think he has done really well.

“I think him and Zaba are the only ones that has played both games fully and should be the ones more tired. But at least they are centre backs, normally they recover earlier than other positions.

“So I hope everyone is ready and available for tomorrow [against Chelsea].

“Probably the last ones to arrive are the South Americans, I think it’s going to be the same for Chelsea with their players, but I expect everyone to train today normally and be available for tomorrow.”
