CHRIS Billam-Smith will face Gilberto ‘Zurdo’ Ramirez in a cruiserweight unification fight this November.
The WBO champion will fight the WBA champion in a unification bout in Saudi Arabia.
The Bournemouth boxer is WBO champion having beaten Lawrence Okolie by majority decision at the Vitality Stadium in May 2023.
‘The Gentleman’ then defended his title by defeating Mateusz Masternak at the Bournemouth International Centre in December of last year by corner retirement.
He then faced Richard Riakporhe at Selhurst Park in London and defended his title again, winning by unanimous decision in June.
Now, he will face WBA cruiserweight champion Gilberto Ramirez in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on November 16, in a world championship unification bout.
Ramirez is the first Mexican boxer to win a cruiserweight title, after he defeated Arsen Goulamirian for the WBA belt earlier this year.
He has a 46-1 record, with 30 knockouts, and previously held the WBO super-middleweight title between 2016 and 2019.
