A BOURNEMOUTH-based elite cycling team has announced a domestic racing legend as their first signing for next season.

Primera-TeamJobs have confirmed that Cornish rider Steve Lampier will be riding for the team in 2025, bringing an experienced head to the Dorset team.

Lampier has been racing in the UK and in Europe for more than two decades at a continental level, most recently for Cornish team Saint Piran.

He transitioned into a sporting director role at the team, which he first joined in 2018 at its inception, at the time with the aim of taking a Cornish team to the Tour de France.

After leaving the team in 2023, Lampier joined French cycling giants Decathlon AG2R La Mondiale as a sports director for their UCI Continental development team.

He returned to racing in 2024 with the Kernow Racing Team.

Bill Temple, Primera-TeamJobs founder, said: “We are very excited to announce our latest team signing for 2025, Steve Lampier, a seasoned athlete with a wealth of racing experience as a professional rider.

“As our race team has always been about developing riders as they gain race experience, Steve will be a valuable addition for 2025.

“The riders are all excited to have him onboard, not only racing alongside him but also the guidance he can provide.

“Primera-TeamJobs has been around for a few years now and each year we climb to the next level, we are currently talking to some of the UK's leading racing cyclists who are keen to join the team, so it’s all looking very exciting.

“Our team is run by Primera Sports cycle shop and a host of local companies: TeamJobs Recruitment, Muc-Off, Norco Composites, Pinarello UK and Symes Wealth Management.”

Primera-TeamJobs have also announced the signing of East Midlands divisional champion Josh Housley.

Housley said: “I’m really excited to join Primera for the 2025 season.

“The team is at an exciting stage in its development which creates a great opportunity to achieve the goals we mutually agree upon for the upcoming season.

“The support from the sponsors is not only unreal, but the management are totally committed to the calendar featuring in the upcoming season. Can’t wait to get going!”

The team was founded in 2016 by Temple of Primera Sports and Jason Gault, from Poole-based recruitment consultancy TeamJobs.

Primera has two shops, in Bournemouth and Poole.
