A TENNIS club is set to host a day to thank volunteers from all the LTA registered tennis clubs in Dorset.
East Dorset Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club in Poole will host a day full of activities to thank those who give up their time at clubs throughout the county on Sunday, September 8.
The event will include presentations honouring the County LTA Tennis Award winnings and Q&As with guests from the LTA, the Tennis Volunteer Community and Dorset Tennis.
There will also be a doubles tennis clinic from ATP coach James Davidson, who has coached Jeremy Chardy, toured the circuit with Jamie Murray and was assistant doubles coach to Louis Cayer.
Those in attendance can also enjoy the grass courts and artificial clay courts at the club, as well as padel tennis.
Special guests include Sharon Heeley, the LTA’s head of delivery for the south and south west, and Simon Spalter and Clive Young from the Tennis Volunteer Community.
The club is the first club in Dorset to have three padel tennis courts, representing the growth of what is the fastest growing racquet sport.
This event also follows the achievement of Tim Dean, one of the club’s members, who won the National Grass Doubles Championships at Wimbledon in the O85 category.
The club can be found in Salters Road, Poole.
