ANDONI Iraola doesn’t focus on referee decisions going Cherries’ way after two controversial late calls in his side’s last two games.
AFC Bournemouth had a would-be winner ruled out against Newcastle last Sunday, before West Ham were awarded a goal that appeared to come off Jarrod Bowen’s arm at West Ham on Wednesday.
Asked about guarding against the frustration that might creep in from these calls, Iraola said: “I try to focus on the things we can control. There are things that we cannot control.
“I will try not to think too much on those things.
“Focusing on the things that you can change; you can alter a little bit and trust the referees and hope that they do good job.
“But I think I don't want to continue with focusing too much on the referee and I prefer to control the things we can control.”
The Basque boss, when asked if he thinks decisions will balance out with other controversial calls going his way, said: “It’s a matter of statistics for sure.
“Sometimes I don't know if they are going to level or not, but I don't want to lose too much time in these things.”
