WIMBORNE Town huffed and puffed but could not find a breakthrough away at second-placed Bemerton Heath Harlequins.
Instead the spoils were shared between the Southern League Division One South’s top two, league-leading Magpies held to a 0-0 draw at Moon Park.
Boss Tim Sills made the one change from the side victorious at home to Yate Town last time out, Jack Lovell returning to the starting XI at the expense of Cam Munn.
Throughout the contest, Wimborne set the tone, with Bemmy’s Patrick Crease the busier of the two goalkeepers.
However, the best opportunities came in the second period.
Crease did well to deny substitute Munn low at the post, before Ben Scorey went closest in added time, his effort agonisingly cleared off the line.
The draw sees Willand Rovers leapfrog both teams to the summit of the division, although both Wimborne and Bemerton enjoy games in hand over the new league leaders.
Magpies are a point behind Willand, whilst enjoying a point lead over Bemerton in third.
Sills’ charges face another promotion contender next time out, welcoming fifth-placed Mousehole to New Cuthbury.
Magpies: Flitney, Hanger, Walker, Cocklin, Jackson, Carmichael (Scorey, 60), Bedford, Neale, Griffin (Beale, 77), Baker (Munn, 66), Lovell.
Unused subs: Morgan, Roberts.
