TERRAS boss Bobby Wilkinson commented how he was “pleased” to bring Cherries youngster Ben Winterburn on loan to the Bob Lucas Stadium.
Prior to Terras’ 1-1 draw with Havant & Waterlooville, it was announced that Premier League Cherries had lent the 19-year-old to their National South neighbours.
Winterburn was an unused sub during the contest, having seen his loan spell with AFC Totton of the division below expire the week before.
Speaking to Terras’ club media, Wilkinson commented: “He’s a good player. I like him as a player.
“We wanted to bring him in from Bournemouth.
“Technically, very good. So, we’ll just get him up to speed and then he’ll get some gametime as well.
“Pleased to bring him into the football club, and I want to thank Bournemouth.
“Trying to get that relationship with Bournemouth, to help us out.
“We sent one or two out on loan this week, that will help us balance the books now.
“Bournemouth have looked after us by allowing Ben to come in.
“We’ll do that, and hopefully get him some gametime.”
Wingers Frankie Monk and Harvey Slade have joined Southern Premier League South outfit Poole Town on loan, with Wilkinson stressing their need for game time.
“They need to get out and get some games, don’t they,” he continued.
“What I’m really pleased about is that they want to stay at this football club, they want to keep working hard for the football club, and to get into this squad.
“When you look at it, Frankie needed to go out – he got COVID, so we needed to get him out.
“We sent Harvey (Slade) out, just to get some time on the ball, league below, get on the ball and enjoying yourself, being on the ball, as well.”
