ON Politics Live today (November 20) Stella Creasey stated that the King and Rod Stewart should not be able to qualify for the Winter Fuel Allowance. Rich people who don`t need it, quite right.
Of course they shouldn't, but she is effectively arguing her own argument in as much as if the bar was raised to cover people who s income is just over the bar of Pension Credit who are the ones who are complaining, then why not raise the bar to cover people whose annual income is eg. 20k.
If your income is this much or more, then you do not need this extra payment.
Would that be too much to expect, instead of the hard and fast rule of only those on benefits receive this payment.
I have paid for my pension and feel that people like myself are the ones being penalised for doing so.
