A YELLOW health warning has been issued, ahead of cold weather across the south coast.

The Met Office has cautioned that forecasted weather is likely to cause “significant impacts” across health and social care services.

In The south east and west there is a yellow alert in place, which means there is a risk score of seven, in place from November 18 until November 23.

The UK Health Security Agency has said that although the impacts are likely to minor, there could be an increased use of healthcare services by vulnerable people.

There is also a greater risk to life of vulnerable people.

According to the Met Office forecast, temperatures will drop to 0C on Thursday morning, which could mean frosty cars and icy roads.

As the cold weather approaches, Dorset and Wiltshire and Fire and Rescue recommend drivers have an ice scraper and de-icer, warm clothes and blankets, a torch and spare batteries, a shovel and a first aid kit.
