RESIDENTS from Kinson came together to remember fallen soldiers on Armistice Day.
Simon Wareham, warden of St Andrew’s Church, organised an event on Kinson Green on Monday, November 11.
He reflected on how enjoyable the morning was with the great weather and support of the community.
He said: “It was a very moving community event for all ages.”
There were multiple members of the public, councillors, children from local schools and members of the Royal British Legion.
There were children present from Kinson Primary School and Christ the King Primary School.
The children from Kinson Primary School read aloud poems they had written in school.
Simon said: “The words were really heartfelt and it was quite powerful.”
The children from Christ the King performed a song with Simon adding: “The way they sang was beautiful.”
He said all the children who attended were extremely well behaved and respectful.
He added: “To me it demonstrates that that remembrance feels safe and secure in the hands of the generation that are growing up.”
