THERE will be more live firing carried out on the Lulworth Ranges next week.
As a result people are urged to take extra care when visiting parts of Purbeck.
The Ministry of Defence (MOD) uses Lulworth Ranges between Wareham and Lulworth as live firing areas and it is one of the busiest in the country.
There will be live firing on the ranges between 9.30am and 5pm on Monday, November 11, Wednesday November 13, Friday November 15 and between 9.30am and 4pm on Tuesday November 12, Thursday November 14, Saturday November 16 and between 9.30am and 1pm on Sunday, November 17.
There will be also night firing between 6pm and 11.59pm on Tuesday, November 12, Thursday, November 14 and Saturday, November 16.
The ranges comprise more than 2,830 hectares and are within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and feature a large Site of Special Scientific Interest.
And the South West Coastal Path runs through the ranges which, due to its stunning location on the Jurassic coast, attracts many visitors and residents.
Risks to public safety can include live firing, unexploded ordnance (UXO), pyrotechnics and fast-moving military vehicles.
