New Forest commoners will soon meet the candidates standing for election as verderers.
A hustings event is planned for November 14 at Bramshaw Village Hall, during the New Forest Commoners' Defence Association's (CDA) mid-term meeting at 7.30pm.
Each candidate will present their plans for the Forest before facing questions from CDA chairman Andrew Parry-Norton and the audience.
The election is set for November 26, marking the end of terms for current elected verderers Dave Readhead and Graham Ferris.
The unpaid role of verderer is crucial to the forest's management, with five verderers rotating on a rolling basis.
Commoners with an acre of land and Forest Rights can vote to appoint two verderers.
Voting will take place at four polling stations: Verderers' Hall in Lyndhurst, Avonway Community Centre in Fordingbridge, Lymington town hall, and Carvers Clubhouse in Ringwood.
The election results will be announced the following day.
