A BMW driver was slapped with a fine and points after a parking mistake.
The black 3-Series had parked on white zig zag lines in South Street, Wareham on Wednesday, September 18.
Purbeck police officers were on patrol when they came across the car parked on the lines.
A spokesman said: “As a result, the driver was issued with a Fixed Penalty Notice (FPN) and is likely to receive a £100 fine and three points on their driver’s licence.
“Parking on zig zag lines puts members of the public at risk.”
The spokesman added: “If you have any concerns regarding any community issues in your area, please contact Dorset Police on 101 non-emergency or https://crowd.in/QWDS9S.
“If a crime is in progress or life is in danger, please call 999.”
The Highway Code says: “You must not park on a crossing or in the area covered by the zig-zag lines.
“You must not overtake the moving vehicle nearest the crossing or the vehicle nearest the crossing which has stopped to give way to pedestrians.”
Dorset Council as well as BCP Council can enforce fixed penalty notices for cars parked on white zig zag lines.
