A DRIVER sped off from the scene of a crash where a person was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Dorset Police received a report 5.43pm on Thursday September 12  of a three-vehicle collision on the A356 at Toller Down Gate. The collision involved a red Ford Focus, a black Seat Ibiza and a grey Peugeot.

The Peugeot failed to stop at the scene.

The driver of the Ford – a man aged in his 60s from Somerset – was taken to hospital for treatment of serious injuries.

Officers are appealing for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to come forward after the fail-to-stop collision near Beaminster.

Police constable Dan White of West Dorset said: “I am appealing to any witnesses who saw what happened to please get in touch.

“I would be keen to hear from anyone who may have captured anything of relevance on dashcam footage.

“Finally, I am appealing directly to the driver of the Peugeot to do the right thing and come forward so we can take your account of the incident.”
