A TEENAGER from Rugby has walked 630 miles along the UK's longest coastal path from Minehead, Cornwall, to Poole for the RNLI.

Tyler Hershey started the walk from Minehead lifeboat station on August 1 and arrived at Poole lifeboat station on August 31.

Raising money for the RNLI, Tyler visited 27 lifeboat stations along his walk.

Poole Lifeboat volunteer, Anne-Marie Clark said: "Tyler is a motivated young man, who inspires others and shows that teenagers care and want to help.

"Tyler has said, that he wants to relocate to Poole and join the crew, when he has finished his education, and we are all certain that we will be welcoming him back here at some stage, as the challenge and the experience of the walk shows, the depth of his strength and determination.

"Well done Tyler and a huge thank you from all the 27 stations that you stopped by, along the way, we applaud you and are very proud of you."

Volunteers from Poole lifeboat station met Tyler as he finished his walk and helped him celebrate the £7,650 he raised for the charity.

Volunteer crew Nikki showed Tyler and his dad around the station.
