SANDBANKS Ferry will be suspended on Friday, September 13, for ‘essential mechanical work’.
It is anticipated the ferry will run on Saturday, September 14, pending the completion of the mechanical work.
A spokesperson for Sandbanks Ferry said: “The ferry service will be suspended on Friday 13th September for essential mechanical work.
“We anticipate resuming service at 7am on the September 14.
“We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.”
The ferry is also in the process of trying to increase its toll fees for customers in the coming months.
New prices proposed by the ferry company could see pedestrians, cyclists and motorcyclists, who have paid £1 since 2009 to cross, paying £1.75.
Cars or light vans less than 3.5 tonnes, previously paying £5.30, may have to fork out an extra 96p to pay £6.26, or an 18 per cent increase.
Passenger vehicles such as coaches and HGVs more than 3.5 tonnes could also see an 18 per cent increase from £10.60 to £12.52.
The ferry service has connected Sandbanks with Swanage/Studland for more than 100 years.
