A HOME in Bournemouth was forced to close to help deal with “serious drug related nuisance and disorder”, the council has said.

A closure order was granted for 2 Jubilee Gardens in the area of Slades Farm by Poole Magistrates’ Court on September 5.

BCP Council served a closure notice to the property on Tuesday, September 3, pursuant to section 80 of the Anti-social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014.

Kieron Wilson, cabinet member for housing and regulatory services, said: “As we’ve shown this year, the council’s anti-social behaviour team won’t hesitate to take a multi-agency approach to tackling disorder in our area.

“A full premises closure order was sought by us to help deal with serious drug related nuisance and disorder at 2 Jubilee Gardens, Slades Farm, Bournemouth, which was having a negative impact on local residents.”

He added: “This action demonstrates how the council and partner agencies are committed to taking action to protect victims and our communities.

“We will always use the tools and powers available to us and we hope by obtaining these premises closure orders, residents are aware that we can act on issues which have no place in BCP.

“If residents are experiencing anti-social behaviour, we encourage them to report to the police by calling 101 and if there are ongoing concerns, to contact the ASB team at asbteam@bcpcouncil.gov.uk”
