THREE employees at the Bournemouth-based holiday firm Daish’s Holidays are to climb a mountain for the company’s chosen charity.

Paul Harper, Darren Gilchrist and Benjamin Hayter from the company’s Bournemouth head office will climb Mount Snowden in Wales overnight on September 27.

Their chosen route will see them cover nine miles over about five to eight hours all in aid of The Eve Appeal.

The charity funds research and raises awareness into the prevention and early diagnosis of the five gynaecological cancers.

Work includes developing effective methods of risk prediction, earlier detection and developing efficient screening.

Paul, the commercial director of Daish’s Holidays, said: “In January this year we sadly bid farewell to our much-loved company founder, Mrs Jeanne Wilson, following her cancer diagnosis.

“The decision to take on the challenge of trekking Mount Snowdon to raise money for The Eve Appeal is testament to the remarkable work that the charity does, and the desire of the whole of the Daish’s team to support the charity as much as possible.

“We will brave the dark and whatever nature throws at us to raise as much as we can for this worthy cause.

“Darren, Benjamin and I have adopted a strict training regime which sees us walking up to 30km each week in preparation for the feat.

“Albeit nervous, we’re very much looking forward to the challenge and supporting the wonderful work that The Eve Appeal undertakes.”
