MOREBUS have spoken out after a pedestrian was hit by a bus and airlifted to hospital with serious injuries.

Police were called to Christchurch Road in Bournemouth at around 9.45am on Sunday, September 1 after reports of a crash.

A woman was airlifted to hospital for treatment to serious injuries.

Mike Freeborn, Morebus area operations manager, said: “One of our buses was involved in an incident with a pedestrian earlier today in Christchurch Road.

“Early indications suggest the pedestrian stepped out in front of the bus in order to pass others who were on the path in front of them.

“The pedestrian was injured and was taken to hospital. We wish them a full and speedy recovery. Nobody on-board the bus was injured but we are supporting our driver, who was understandably shaken.

“We are carrying out an investigation to establish the exact circumstances behind this incident.”
