A MOTORCYLIST has been taken to hospital with serious injuries after a crash with a car. 

The male rider, in his 50s and from Corfe Mullen, was on the A31 near Henbury farm when he was involved in the collision with a car shortly after 11am on Friday, August 30. 

Multiple emergency services rushed to the crash and closed part of the A31 between the Roundhouse Roundabout to Brickyard Lane at the Coventry Arms. 

Paramedics took the motorcyclist to Poole Hospital in the back of an ambulance.  

Dorset Police’s spokesman said: "A man has been taken to hospital for treatment to a serious injury. 

"Arrangement has been made for recovery of a vehicle. 

"The road has now reopened and officers left the scene at around 1.45pm." 

No arrests have been made.

A spokeswoman for the South Western Ambulance Service said: "We were called at 11.23am on Friday 30 August to a road traffic collision near Sturminster Marshall, Wimborne. 

"We sent two double-crewed land ambulances and a critical care car to the scene. We conveyed one patient by land ambulance to Poole Hospital."
