A BLANDFORD man has been charged with attempted murder and intentional strangulation.
Matthew Dominey, 41, from Blandford Forum, has been charged with attempted murder and intentional strangulation after a woman in her 40s and a boy were strangled on August 27 at around 7pm at an address in Eagle House Gardens.
It is reported that the woman managed to kick the man away and that both victims visited hospital for treatment for their injuries and have since been discharged.
A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: "Following enquiries, a 42-year-old man from Blandford Forum was arrested and subsequently charged with attempted murder and intentional strangulation.
"It is reported that the victims – a woman in her 40s and a boy – were strangled by a man before the woman managed to kick him away.
"The victims attended hospital for treatment to their injuries and have since been discharged."
"The incident involved people who are known to each other."
Dominey will appear in Poole Magistrates' Court on August 29.
