TEMPORARY traffic lights causing major disruption to the A35 are likely to come down this week.

An exact date is still not given for when repair work on the A35 past Bakers Arms Roundabout will be done.

But Openreach, the firm carrying out the work, said that engineers are hopeful it should be completed this week.

A spokeswoman for Openreach said: “We have a traffic management in place to keep road users safe and complete the work.

“We like to thank everyone for their understanding while we make the carriageway safe again.”

Long queues have been seen in the area for nearly a week now, with it at its worse during evening rush hour eastbound when traffic is backed up to Slepe.

It’s believed a damaged drain cover has been the cause of the problems, with workmen needing to realign the drain.

The two-way lights on the A35 near Foxhills Road have been in place since August 16 when a damaged drain cover was first reported.
