RESURFACING work for two busy roads in Bournemouth and Christchurch has been delayed by two weeks.

Work to resurface the tarmac in Turbary Park Avenue in West Howe, Bournemouth and Stoney Lane, Christchurch was due to start on Monday, September 2.

But the contractors have had to delay the work due to bad weather during other jobs elsewhere in the country.

Work in Bournemouth will now start on September 16 and in Christchurch, the work will start on September 16,

Cllr Michelle Dower, ward councillor for Kinson and the Howes, said: “The micro asphalt surfacing works scheduled for Turbary Park Avenue have been delayed due to poor weather experienced by the contractor in other parts of the country.

“The revised start date is 16 September and all other arrangements remain unchanged.

“The pre-patching work on the road has now been completed and has significantly improved the surface already.

“Once the micro goes over the top of it we anticipate it will hold the road together for years to come.”

She also confirmed the resurfacing work for Stoney Lane has been pushed back to start on September 16.

Both roads will be closed round-the-clock and a signed diversion routes will be in place.
