FIVE new shared-ownership homes in New Milton are nearing completion.
The new homes, in Moore Close, have been developed by New Forest District Council.
They have been designed to meet high energy efficiency standards, and include extra thermal insulation, triple glazing, photovoltaic roof panels, and heating provided by air source heat pump technology.
The carpeted homes incorporate a fitted kitchen with built in appliances, two dedicated parking spaces for each property with an electric vehicle charging point, and a private garden.
Cllr Steve Davies, portfolio holder for housing and homelessness, said: "We are thrilled to offer these new shared ownership homes, which provide an accessible path to homeownership.
"By supporting shared ownership, we are providing individuals and families with more opportunities to access affordable housing, whilst fostering stronger and more vibrant communities, and the addition of these high-quality, sustainable homes demonstrates our commitment to meeting the housing needs of our district.”
Applications for the new homes open at 9am on October 2.
New Forest District Council is hosting an information event about the new properties from 10.30am to 4pm on September 11 at the information office in New Milton Town Hall, Ashley Road.
Booking is not required for this event.
More information about shared ownership, and how to apply, is available on New Forest District Council’s website.
