A BRIDGE is to close for up to half a year because it is a “danger”.
From September 6, pedestrians, horse riders and cyclists will not be allowed to cross or use the bridleway bridge off Furzelands Road in Three Legged Cross.
Workmen will be replacing the “dangerous” bridge with a new one, according to Dorset Council.
The authority added the bridge could be closed for up to six months while the work is done.
Dorset Council said: “The notice is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users.
“It will come into operation on September 6 for a period of 26 weeks initially and can be extended with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport, if necessary.”
