FREEMASONS have offered support for young carers from Bournemouth and Poole.

With £1500 funding from Dorset Masonic Care, matched with a further £1500 from the Masonic Charitable Foundation, the young carers were able to attend a five-day music course.

Over the five days, the carers composed, rehearsed, and perfected their parts culminating in a performance of three original musical pieces at the Place Court Theatre in Bournemouth.

Amongst the audience were parents, supporters and friends of the carers, and representatives of all the organisations contributing to the event.

The head of Dorset Freemasonry, Stephen James, was delighted that his deputy, Mark Burstow, attended as a representative of the organisation.

Stephen said: “As Dorset Freemasons we are immensely proud to be able to help facilitate such a fantastic occasion, helping to enrich the experience of the young carers who took part.”
