MORE than £6,000 has been raised for the family of a young ‘brave’ boy from Bournemouth.

Ellis Edwards passed away at the age of 11 after a long battle with stage four neuroblastoma.

During his life, he met the King and Queen, Bear Grylls, and visited magical places such as Disneyland and Dubai.

Now, a GoFundMe has been created for Ellis’ family to help with funeral costs and offer general support.

The GoFundMe reads: “Ellis was loved by so many and fought his cancer battle for so long. The community is in mourning today with the news that he has been taken at the young age of 11. I would like to help the family with any funeral costs and support going forward.”

Ellis’ auntie gushed about her nephew. She said: “There have been so many tributes, so many flowers at his school.

“It’s just blown us away. You don’t know how many lives that little boy touched with that smile, he was just the most amazing little boy.”

Friends and family of Ellis took to social media to pay tribute to the young boy.

One person wrote: “The loveliest, kindest, bravest boy with the biggest smile. Ellis will be so missed by everyone who knew him. He was so special.”

Another commented: “What an incredible little fella with an incredible family and support network.

“Many of us could learn a lot from Ellis' attitude to life. So much love to those whose lives he touched. Shine bright Ellis.

His mum, Carly, and dad, Eddie, said: “His never-ending smile and thirst for life enabled him to have so much fun and laughter with his little brother, William, and friends during this time.

“Ellis you were adored by so many. You showed everyone what determination can achieve.”
