A CAR park in Boscombe will close at the beginning of 2025 ahead of major development plans.
It has been confirmed that the small car park in Hawkwood Road, behind Costa and WHSmith, will close in January of next year.
Hawkwood Road's larger car park is also due to close in 2025, although a date for this is yet to be confirmed.
Space is being made for a new development of flats, a medical and community centre and retail kiosks.
The scheme is part of the Boscombe Towns Fund – more than £21m of government investment secured to redevelop Boscombe.
Giving an update on Friday, the Boscombe Regeneration group said: “As part of our ongoing efforts to enhance the community space, the small car park behind Costa and WHSmith will close in January 2025 to pave the way for our exciting new community centre and walkway.
“New community centre will include a front seating area extending to the walkway.
“Dedicated disabled space and service road for easy access.”
