A BOSCOMBE road will reopen later this month while the council does work.
Ashley Road between Holdenhurst Road and Tower Road partially closed on July 22 so BCP Council could do highway improvements.
The road is closed northbound until August 25 and then, from August 26 to 28, a full road closure will be put in place between the two roads.
While the road closure is in place, a signed diversion route has been put up, the council said.
BCP Council will be installing a new toucan crossing, bus shelter and widened path for cyclists and pedestrians.
Andy Hadley, cabinet member for the environment, said: “These improvements on Ashley Road help provide safe active travel links for school children and the local community.”
The closure is bringing further disruption to Boscombe; Christchurch Road eastbound between Manor Road and Boscombe Spa Road is closed for up to eight weeks.
Wessex Water closed the lane on August 2 to begin emergency repairs to its infrastructure underneath the tarmac when a sewer collapsed.
A spokesman said: “We apologise for the inconvenience caused by this emergency work to residents, motorists, and tourists visiting the area.”
