A WORKER was treated by paramedics after a fire broke out at a hotel.
Firefighters were called to the Grand Hotel in Burlington Road, Swanage shortly after 11pm on Thursday, August 1.
According to the fire service, there was a “small” fire that had started in a tumble dryer that needed to be extinguished.
One worker was treated by the fire crews and paramedics for smoke inhalation, according to Swanage fire station.
A spokesman for the station added: “At 11.14pm both appliances from Swanage joined by other stations were mobilised to a property fire at a local hotel.
“A small fire involving an industrial tumble dryer was extinguished using two breathing apparatus and one hose reel jet.
“One member of staff was treated by crews and paramedics for smoke inhalation.
“Crews returned back to station at 1am.”
The Grand Hotel is described as a “classic Victorian seaside hotel” with its origins dating back to 1898, according to its website.
Situated on the edge of the beach, the hotel has 30 en-suite bedrooms, a spa, pool and gym.
