AN ANNUAL Roma Holocaust memorial service will take place this week.
Kushti Bok will hold their eighth annual service to remember not only the Gypsy family camp that was annihilated on August 2, 1944, but all the Roma and Sinti who suffered and perished at the hands of the Nazi regime.
The service will be opened by the Lord Lieutenant of Dorset, Angus Campbell, at 12noon on Friday, August 2.
The service will take place at Sherborne Abbey and will include readings and poems recited by Romany people and supporters.
It will last for around one to one and a quarter hours.
The Abbey is open to the public, and anyone is welcome to attend.
Kushti Bok is an advocacy group that works with Dorset Police, Dorset Council and BCP Council to help them better understand the Gypsy and Traveller way of life.
