A BUS stop was seen ‘absolutely covered in blood’ following a stabbing in Bournemouth.
Residents watched as a major incident unfolded at Christchurch Road in Boscombe, which left one person with stab wounds.
Dorset Police were called to reports a man was assaulted at 10.04am on Thursday, July 18.
Abii Watts, a tattoo artist from Bournemouth, witnessed the incident while she was on her way to work at Old Christchurch Road.
Abii said: “The bus stop at Palmerston Road was absolutely covered in blood.
“I avoided eye contact as I walked past and asked a gentleman to call the police because I was too scared to go back up there.”
She said there were three people kicking people as they walked by.
“I was pretty scared; I don’t feel safe in the area at all. It’s been getting worse,” Abii added.
Abii said emergency services arrived ‘within minutes’ and were ‘everywhere'.
She said she saw five police cars and one ambulance.
Two cordons were put in place in Christchurch Road on Thursday morning.
A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: ”It is reported that the victim sustained stab wounds that are not described as serious.”
A man and woman were arrested in connection with the incident.
The incident is believed to involve people who are known to each other.
A spokesperson for the South Western Ambulance Service said: “We were called at 10:09hrs on Thursday July 18 to an incident in Bournemouth. We sent a double-crewed land ambulance and an operations officer to the scene and conveyed one patient by land ambulance to Royal Bournemouth Hospital.”
Newly elected MP for Bournemouth East, Tom Hayes, voiced his concerns over the incident, saying he wants to understand the nature of the circumstances which led up to the stabbing as well as the nature of the police response.
Mr Hayes said: “The concern I’ve got is that for a stabbing to have taken place, somebody would’ve had to be carrying a blade in public.
“I want to understand as an MP what the police are doing to address knife crime.”
Mr Hayes added: “With every incident of knife crime, there will be more concern in Bournemouth that we are a town deeply affected by this.”
