BOURNEMOUTH Natural Science Society and Museum has announced it will hold 11 open days across August.
The museum in Christchurch Road, Bournemouth, will open its geology, botany, archaeology and Egyptology rooms alongside its award-winning garden.
Doors will be open from 10am to 4pm each day with live insect and snake handling also available.
A spokesperson for Bournemouth Natural Science Society (BNSS) said: "Join us to celebrate all things natural science and history.
"There will also be a live insect and snake handling, along with our 'petting zoo'."
BNSS is a registered charity which formed in 1903.
It hopes to promote study, interest and enjoyment in all branches of the natural sciences and history.
The home of the BNSS is a late Victorian Grade II listed building.
The museum boasts a range of artefacts which includes a 2500-year-old mummy in its sarcophagus.
Its two libraries hold more than 5,000 volumes for loan and reference.
In 2016, the museum was awarded accredited museum status by Arts Council England.
