A DRIVER was taken to hospital after a serious crash with a car in the New Forest.
Emergency services shut the A35 through Holmsley on Tuesday afternoon, July 9 following a crash between a car and a lorry.
On arrival, a 79-year-old woman who was driving the car had to be taken away to hospital.
She suffered injuries that police have described as being “serious”.
Meanwhile, the driver of the lorry was uninjured.
Hampshire Police's spokeswoman said: "We were called at 2.36pm on July 9 to reports of a collision on Bournemouth Road, Holmsley.
"The collision involved a lorry and a car.
"One person has been taken to hospital in a serious condition."
Inrix, the Echo’s traffic feed, reported severe congestion in the surrounding area while police closed the road for four hours to carry out examination work.
