A MAN is being quizzed by police officers after a teenage girl was allegedly sexually assaulted.
The girl was in Gore Road, New Milton on Tuesday morning, July 9 when she was approached by a man who sexually assaulted her.
Following enquiries from officers in Hampshire, a man, 30 and from Ferndown, was arrested in Christchurch later that afternoon.
A spokesman for New Milton police said: “A 30-year-old man from Ferndown, Dorset has been arrested on suspicion of sexual assault.
“It follows a report of a sexual assault on a teenage girl on Gore Road, New Milton shortly before 9am today (Tuesday 9 July).
“The man was arrested in Christchurch at approximately 2.30pm this afternoon and is currently in police custody.
“The arrest followed a great joint effort involving officers from the neighbourhood policing team and district policing team.”
