A PROJECT to offer opportunities to ethnically diverse communities in Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole is set to launch.
The Community Action Network (CAN), Dorset Community Foundation, Dorset Race and Equality Council and BCP Council have partnered to launch the Ethnically Diverse Communities (EDC) Project.
Funded by the National Lottery Community Fund, it will offer opportunities to EDC groups to be heard and to grow in the area.
This will be through training opportunities, identify community needs, one-to-one meetings and events.
The project will launch on Thursday, June 27.
The launch event will see members of the different communities in the area come together for group activities, networking and a talk by the BCP Council community engagement manager, Kathy Boston-Mammah.
The project is being led by Mayu Rouco-Santos, with Catia Leite and Tama Merdaci as capacity building officers.
There is limited capacity at the event, which will be held on Bournemouth University’s Talbot Campus, so anyone wishing to attend should reserve a spot on Eventbrite.
The event is for ethnically diverse groups, so those who wish to attend who are not part of an EDC group in the BCP area should email Community Action Network before booking.
This is to ensure the event is relevant for each community.
