SWANAGE Railway will welcome eight steam locomotives for the first time since 1967 this weekend.
The trains will be chugging along Swanage and Corfe Castle before heading to Frome in Somerset.
A spokesperson for Swanage Railway said: “In just under 12 hours the Swanage Railway will make history by having the largest gathering of Bulleid Pacific steam locomotives in service together since 1967 - a fantastic achievement for UK railway preservation.
“We will also have the largest gathering of “Original” Bulleid Pacifics since 1967, the first time two Merchant Navies have run on the same railway and the first time two Merchant Navies have double-headed and worked the same train since 1967.
“Don’t miss out on this truly great gathering of southern steam giants.”
The event will also see the first overnight trains depart from Swanage since 2003.
The spokesperson added: “The “Knight Rider” will feature Battle of Britain Class No. 34070 “Manston” hauling four overnight services between Swanage and Corfe Castle. These will depart Swanage at 23:30, 01:00, 03:00, 05:00 and 07:00.”
Strictly Bulleid Two will see trains running on Friday and Saturday evening.
The beer festival will also be held at Corfe Castle station during the steam train event.
Tickets to Strictly Bullied can be purchased via the Swanage Railway website.
