A Dorset hotel has been named as one of the best value five star venues in the UK and Ireland, according to new research.
The study, compiled by luggage storage app Bounce, analysed hotels on their customer reviews versus their nightly room costs.
Summer Lodge Country House Hotel, in Fore Street, Evershot, finished fifth on the list, receiving 96.14 per cent of 'very good' and 'excellent' reviews.
The average cost of a night at the venue is £389, resulting in a total value score of 7.55 out of 10.
Data collected for the average nightly hotel cost was taken from Booking.com and based on prices from January 2023 to December 2023. An average nightly price was then calculated.
The total rating for the best value five-star hotels was calculated using a combination of both ‘good’ and ‘excellent’ reviews from tripadvisor.com, as well as the average cost of a one-night stay, to determine an overall score out of ten.
"Finding the right hotel to lodge while on your trip can be particularly challenging, especially with the array of top-rated hotels out there," Bounce said.
"To determine if they really live up to their extravagant promises, this report analyses five-star hotels across the globe to reveal the world’s best value luxury accommodations to spend the night."
Located in the Dorset countryside, Summer Lodge Country House Hotel boasts luxury rooms, suites and even historic private cottages offering 'a quintessential pastoral escape'.
It also offers experiences for customers including horseriding, shooting, fishing and sailing, and hosts wedding and events.
A spa offers guests a relaxing retreat, while the Georgian venue is also able to host Christmas parties.
Meanwhile, four acres of gardens, a restaurant and bar, heated indoor pool and an all-weather tennis court also feature in the Evershot hotel, situated in a village associated with author Thomas Hardy.
