A FESTIVE street in Poole is gearing itself up to switch on its Christmas lights.
Runton Road in Branksome will have its illuminations turned on from Saturday, December 10.
The street has been wowing the crowds with its Christmas lights for more than 20 years.
There will be no specific grand lighting up, organisers said the lights will be mostly lit from around 4pm and go off at around 10pm.
In a post on social media, a spokesperson said: “Runton Road Christmas Lights should be fully twinkling as from the 10th of December.
"The charity boxes will be out ready for your donations to our chosen charities we do understand that finances are stretched but please donate what you are able to which of course as always goes directly to the charities.”
As reported, residents said this year’s extravaganza will be slightly different due to energy prices.
Resident John Tuvey said he wouldn't be using some of the high-voltage lights due to their high running cost.
The spokesperson added: “There may be a slight difference due to the displays due to cost cutting but I believe a large majority will still be doing as much as possible to keep the displays as enchanting as ever.”
Visitors are welcome to enjoy the lights, but people are urged to park away from the road and walk to Runton Road but be mindful of not blocking other people’s driveways or parking on corners.
Anyone with a disability is welcome to park in the road.
