IT IS officially October half term and if you’re looking for ways to keep your kids occupied then look no further.Â
We’ve rounded up some of the top activities to keep your little ones busy across Dorset:Â
Fun at RockReef and PierZip on Bournemouth PierÂ
RockReef indoor activity climbing attraction and the PierZip will be open for family adventures and fun!

From Saturday, October 23, RockReef will have all of its indoor activities open seven days a week, from 10am until 6:00pm (last session 4:00pm).Â
The popular attraction includes 28 climbing walls, a HighLine aerial obstacle course, Vertical Slide, and the Leap of Faith.
Winter prices have now kicked off on the zip wire with prices from ÂŁ13pp for a Dual Ride. PierZip sessions are available to book from 11am until 5pm.

Smugglers Cove Adventure GolfÂ
Smugglers Cove will be running a special Halloween ghoulish golf tournament this half term.Â
From October 25 to October 31, count how many pumpkins you spot on the 18-hole course for the chance to win a year’s unlimited golf pass.Â
Scavenger hunt at Upton Country Park
Visit Upton Country Park and take part in the Autumn Colour Scavenger Hunt running until 29 October.
Pick up an activity sheet in the Tea Rooms between 10am and 3pm, then head out exploring to find the shapes and shades of autumn to complete your scavenger hunt.
Two-hour Halloween bushcraft special on StudlandÂ
Embrace autumn by taking part in one of these family bushcraft sessions for children aged four and upwards.

There will be special spooky stories and camp crafts during the Halloween period as well as all the usual bushcraft activities.
The sessions will involve several short activities so you can learn skills that you can take away to develop and build on together outdoors.
The family friendly activities include shelter building, tool use and camp crafts, water purification and fire lighting - using different techniques like flint and steel and cooking treats over the fire
The bushcraft sessions cost ÂŁ20 per person and there is strictly no fancy dress due to it being a fire hazard.Â
SEA LIFE Weymouth
SEA LIFE is hosting a spooktacular event throughout October with an immersive in-tank trail, sea witch mystery and a celebration of their creepiest creatures from the deep sea.
The Ascarium in Weymouth runs from October 9-31 2021.
You can buy an adult ticket for ÂŁ14.50 while children's tickets cost ÂŁ10.50 each.Â
Adventure Wonderland
Adventure Wonderland has just transformed its park into a "spooky world of magic and mystery".
Their hedge maze has turned into an 'Enchanted' interactive experience based off your favourite Grimm's fairytales.
The park has some entertaining live shows in the Happydrome Theatre and you'll still be to try out all their fun rides like normal.
Tickets are available from October 23-31 and can be purchased from their website.
Highcliffe Castle pumpkin hunt
Highcliffe Castle
This autumn half term, visit Highcliffe Castle and take part in a selection of activities for the whole family to enjoy including a Folklore & Fairytale Trail inside the Castle, autumn themed crafts on Tuesday and Thursday, and a pumpkin hunt.

Spooky woodland walk at the Red House Museum

Magical storytelling at Scaplen's Court
Grab your broomsticks and head to Scaplen's Court in Poole on Wednesday 27 October, 11am to 3pm.
The team at Scaplen's Court will be joined by the spooktacular storyteller Michele O'Brien. An experience the whole family will enjoy!
Halloween trail at Stour Valley
Visit the spooky, bat themed, trail on the Stour Valley nature reserve for some ghoulish fun this half term.Â
Collect a trail sheet for ÂŁ3 at our Visitor Centre, find out all the answers along the trail and collect your prize at the end.
The event is running throughout the half term week and you can collect your trail sheets between 10am and 3.30pm from Kingfisher Barn.
Visit Farmer Palmer’s Farm Park
Why not get into the Halloween spirit a little early by visiting the "Boo- Crew"?
They will lead you on to their special "Soak-A-Spook" Tractor ride.Â
The family fun doesn't stop there because the farm is offering pick your own pumpkin sessions which will be running from October 25-31.Â
Tickets are free for annual pass holders but spots need to be reserved before arrival.
Halloween Childrens Trail in Durlston Country Park
The park is hosting the family friendly event from October 22 right up to Halloween.
Get into the spooky spirit a little early this year by using some night vision glasses on their trail.
Or you can just enjoy being outside and exploring the beautiful woodland.
